NYC Tea Party

Attended last nights NYC Tea Party... I think the numbers were closer to 3-4 thousand than the 2k I saw reported on AP site.
We were stretched out the length of City Hall park, 2 lanes into Broadway. Any NYPD folks have a better count? I know they let some folks come forward after a while, and expanded the barricades farther into the street.
Newt stayed on topic. Taxes and Teaparty history. Not too much grandstanding. Crowd was a nice mix, with a couple of wackos just in case a network needed to make us all look bad.

The common theme I'd like to address in politics is finding a way to avoid the Alinsky-esque dodges. I'd love to debate a lib or a socialist or just an Obama-Fan who likes his pecs or whatever, if for once instead of attacking my funding, or supposed hypocrisy, they would just debate the IDEAS. But that won't happen. I'm astroturf.   So, here's my new policy. Fine. I'm astroturf. I'm an extremist. I'm a racist (for wanting real equality, not special treatment for groups). I'm OLD SCHOOL. My policies have FAILED.

But am I actually WRONG? Nope. Can you disprove my point? NOPE. Are higher taxes and more government spending better? NO NO NO NO NO.

Is any of this government expansion constitutional (and yes, I'm including the BUSH expansion)? No.

Talk about the message. And by the way... Hypocrites are NOT by definition wrong about anything. Their just hypocrites. in many if not MOST cases, Hypocrites are FAR MORE LIKELY to be correct, given their first hand experience with whatever issue they are talking about.  Wanna hear about the dangers of drunk driving? Ask a convicted DUI offender who wiped out his whole family.  The trick is whether the hypocrite has stopped or has even attempted to stop the behavior. And EVEN IF THEY HAVEN'T, they could still be RIGHT.

Back to your lives,
"Its your world and I'm just a squirrel, trying to get a nut, to move your butt."

Or think.

Focus on the issues at hand...?

As we live out this Tea Party/Tax day here in America, it's a challenge to stay on topic.  We've been advised to make sure we aren't distracted or "off message" today. Today is about taxes and spending.

The problem is, it's all connected.
Cap and Trade is a tax enacted in the name of preventing climate change
TARP and PORKULUS are future taxes waiting to happen, pretending to be a stimulant, but really just a way to get corporate america addicted and under control of the Federal Government. Think of it as Economic Crack. Here's your free sample. Now go rob someone else to pay for your next fix...

I see GM putting out prototypes of electric go-karts while the government pretends they will build solar plants with which to charge them. The best part? the go-carts are pre-wired to be CENTRALLY CONTROLLED.  Genius. You can drive it on your own for now, but later, the govt flips a switch and ZOMBIE CAR.  Is this what Obama thinks will save that company? He doesn't want to save anything. He want's to push GM out of real business, so that the Fed can take over their production facilities at cost.

Sell Chrysler to FIAT? When was the last time you even SAW a Fiat? This is supposed to save american jobs somehow? How?
I can't wait to get my new government sponsored Fiat Robo-Zombie cart. It's got a 5 mile range, and tells the government if I use too many lightbulbs in my house, or shower more than once a day. It also teaches my children to trust the government in all things, and probably has a stereo that automatically tunes itself away from Talk Radio.

I paid my way out of debt, have a stellar credit rating, and didn't buy a home because I wanted to save up a downpayment. Now I'll be subsidizing some wackjobs solar panel and paying his rent for the next 20 years, if they don't lock me up for "eco-crimes".

What IS the correct temperature of the Earth? What SHOULD it be?  Tell me the answer to that and I'll vote Obama dictator for life.

Nah. Government should not be a career choice. Fred Thompson 2012.

I anticipate within the next 10 years being prosecuted after my neighborhood Obama-watch commander reports me for "incandescents".

AP Double Standard

Ok, I just read some remarks by the head of the AP regarding Freedom of Information and Reporters sources...

in a nutshell, the AP is:

FOR a law that prevents/protects reporters from revealing their sources
   and
FOR a law that MANDATES that government employees (Like cabinet members) reveal theirs.

Is this why they prosecuted Scooter? Because he WASN'T the source?

The President should start a magazine for the white house staff, get himself a press pass, and then the entire cabinet can become his "anonymous source".  Take that, smaktards.

Rifles for Self Defense

Responding to the comments during the SCOTUS hearings on Heller today...
[rifles/shotguns v. handguns for self defense]

It is irresponsible to use a rifle for self defense in an urban area, as overpenetration is a VERY serious concern.  Centerfire rifle ammo can go through many interior walls, some exterior walls, and generally is over powered for indoor self defense, particularly with sleeping neighbors/children next door. (Thanks to our friends in the gun ban movement, most rifle ammo is made for HUNTING and designed for penetration).
While Military personnel might have access to specialty ammo for CQB, it is hardly reasonable to expect civilians to use Subsonic or Frangibles in a major rifle caliber, which have ALSO been subject to attempts at regulation. The vast majority of ammo purchased for target use is Military surplus, subject to the Geneva restrictions (i.e. no hollow points) and thus ALSO designed for wall penetration.

Handgun ammo, on the other hand is readily available in limited penetration loads for the civilian market. Of course, even this ammo has been demonized by the banners, who only limit there discussion to "gateway" items as a short term strategy, so that they can achieve their eventual goal, which is a total ban on all guns and ammo, leaving them only in the hands of the GOVERNMENT and CRIMINALS. (Hmmm, shall I be eaten by the Lion or the Hyaena... It sure is fun being a baby wildebeast).

The Oval Office

I cannot possibly imagine applying for a job in which I would be required to use the office my spouse cuckolded me in...

Super Delegates = Politburo

Was thinking about the irony last night that the "Democratic" party has had this Superdelegate thing for quite a while.
The closest thing I can come up with is the structure of the old Soviet Politburo, where a bunch of party insiders get to make all the decisions in committee.  And now their candidates have to go around playing nice with a bunch of self-appointed Party officials.  The Party will decide what is best. It will all be decided by the officials of the Party.

Why can't they admit they are socialists?  They are already adopting the structures and still want to pretend that it's "democracy".

Winning the Language War- CLIMATE EVOLUTION

"Climate Change"
"Global Warming"

(cue menacing music)

These are words our neo-comm, socialist, eco-fascist opponents use to describe something that has been happening on this planet, for all practical purposes, for ETERNITY without our direction or intervention.

At some point, the eco-fascists decided that they could pretend that "conservation" meant "preserving the status quo".
This dangerous attitude ignores a few milennia of human experience, and virtually all the scientific knowledge available to man.

THINGS CHANGE - ALL THE TIME.
Since when does the environment stay the same? Utah used to be underwater. Alaska used to be the eastern steppes of Siberia. There used to be ICE covering North America, down to somewhere near North Carolina.
(according to our scientist friends)

When I was a kid, I grew up on a nature "preserve" (literally). I learned all the trails by heart, I played in the forests every day (not making this up).
Then one year, there was a hurricane. It rained for a long time, really hard, and the streams on the hills above the preserve flooded. This washed out a large section of the trails I loved so much, and completely changed the geography of the preserve, in about 36 hours.
The old pond where we caught frogs and snakes was gone. The direction of the stream changed. There was a new pool at the base of the waterfall. In a place where previously there was only frogs and minnow, now we had some honest to god BASS. I got to FISH in a stream that wasn't there 2 days before.

And I learned a big lesson. Nature changes. That change is natural. Nothing we can do can prevent it.
It's like...
EVOLUTION.

Let's hit them back in the language war. Lets start referring to changes in the weather over the long term as "CLIMATE EVOLUTION" (which, after all is perfectly natural. And everything natural is good, Right? ).

Ask Democrats why they are opposed to "climate evolution"? It's just nature...

Climate Evolution has been happening for milennia.  It will continue with or without us.

Take back the language. Our opponents started it.

Surrendering the Global Warming argument?

Today I have been inundated with news stories about this global warming conference, carefully timed to coincide with articles about Bush forcing spin onto the "scientists" involved.
One recent article, in discussing this upcoming "report" boasted that the number of computer models they used to predict the future climate change had increased threefold. (up to something like 17 from 6, whatever)

Frankly, the use of computer modeling to predict anything much past next week is something they won't even do on the Weather Channel, so why some of the same people feel ok about making sweeping generalizations about future global climate based on what a computer "tells" them. Artificial Intelligence, btw, is hardly more than a theory, so computers can still, at this point in history, only tell us what WE TELL THEM TO TELL US. (basic programming, 101, computers don't make decisions, people do)
If any computer scientist can tell me I'm wrong, I will gladly offer a retraction. But I'm really not holding my breath here.

Saying that 17 computers told you it was going to rain is no more valid than saying one did.
Picture this headline:
14 idiots think I'm right...(up 12 from last week). That 700 percent increase in support from idiots doesn't do much for my confidence, thanks.

I live in New York City. The temperature in a 10 mile radius varies by as much as 5 degrees on any given day, at any given time. So, riddle me this... if these doomsayers are saying that 2 degrees will raise sea level 50 feet, then why am I not wet right now? The temperature went up and down 15 degrees in ONE DAY today. So 2 degrees over 100 years is going to KILL US? Please.

More later, if I can bear to think more on this... I can't believe the republicans and businessman are preparing to cave in on this. It should be an easy fight. PROVE SOMETHING... what's that? NO PROOF? A computer model? I have a computer model that lets me pretend to be an elf in a magical land and slay dragons... What else do you want to pretend today?

Ramblings...

The fact that we allow the other party to call themselves "democrats" is a travesty. It permits the uneducated to arrive at the false conclusion that Republicans do not believe in democracy. We should call them what they are, neo-comms or socialists.

The fact that the "liberals" have been permitted to advance an agenda based on SEEMING to care for minorities while simultaneously promoting policies which consistently slow their progress and ability to function and thrive in society is MINDBLOWING to me.

Promoting racial quotas and lowered standards under the guise of "opportunity" is a false promise. We are faced with an entire generation of people who have been raised thinking they are owed something by the government they pay for. Who have yet to make the connection between their own tax payments and the federal budget.  And these same people are taught in school how great democracy is (true) and then when they get to vote, they are forced to choose... Democratic or NOT Democratic ... since Democracy is good, then Democrats must be good...

So simple. Yet so powerful. All it takes is a comprehensive and thorough misunderstanding of what the parties actually stand for and a lack of education in basic economics below the college level...
